Tata Motors, Jamshedpur beat Milan Sangha, Kolkata 5-3 through tie-breaker in the opening match of the 10th All-India Knock-out Football Tournament being organised by Railway Institute at the Bondamunda Sersa stadium in Rourkela today.
Tie-break rule was applied after play in the regulation time ended in 1-1 draw. Man of the match Ram Chandra Baskey drew first blood for the Tata side in the 21st minutes, while MK Mukherjee equalised for the Kolkata outfit in the 48th minutes.
Altogether 16 teams from across the country are participating in the tournament, which was earlier inaugurated by Railway Police Superintendent R K Bal. The final is slated for March 8.
